"The professor was so enthusiastic about teaching and having us learn. She really cared about seeing us progress. That was a huge thing because I really felt like she wanted us to improve and graded us according to how much we progressed over the semester."

Stephanie Clayman
believes that acting skills are life skills, and that full emotional expression is everyone's birthright.  The ability to be present in and aware of your body, to breathe deeply, to completely understand your words and to express them with passion, using the full range of voice and physicality, will allow you to be your best self, regardless of whether you work in theater or in business.
At Bentley University she created a popular course for management students which uses theatre techniques to build work relationships, understand and use non-verbal communication, and hone presentation skills. She has helped a Harvard Postdoctoral Fellow present her astronomical research, and has coached doctors in presenting at conferences. She has the experience and flexibility to be empathetic and encouraging.

A typical session might include:
  • Goal setting/Check In
  • Warmups to center the body
  • Vocal exercises to help expand range and flexibility
  • Practice presentations focusing on voice, physical presence, and eye contact
  • Specific homework assignments to build skills and confidence

"This was one of the most relevant classes I have ever taken at Bentley.  I will carry this information with me for the rest of my life."

"The course
combined the best components of a psychology and sociology class and integrated management aspects. Helped me with my self-confidence and how to interact with others - made great friends through the class and LOVED the professor. She is very experienced and knows how to bring out the best in her students."
